Mark Andrews

Born: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England, March 21, 1875

Died: Montclair, New Jersey, December 10, 1939

Vocation: Following his training at Westminster Abbey with John Thomas Ruck, Andrews emigrated to the United States in 1902, where he served a number of churches in Montclair in the area of church music. A capable composer, he was active in the American Guild of Organists (AGO).

Accomplishments: Andrews published several string quartets, cantatas, anthems, organ pieces and other songs, and is composer of the hymn tune LAUDA ANIMA, also known as ANDREWS, to which Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven, is sung.
